Perspectives on Leadership and the Media: What to do when the media comes calling

Co-Anchor of Cleveland's Fox 8 News in the Morning

Lately, today's media has been as much a part of the news in today's social environment as it has been reporting on the news.  At the same time, journalists must continue to balance objectivity with the public's right to know.  Don't miss this opportunity to hear from veteran news reporter Wayne Dawson and his perspective on leadership and how school leaders can interact effectively with the media.

Wayne Dawson grew up in East Cleveland, attended East Cleveland City Schools, and Kent State University.  He continues to make his home in Cleveland. An eleven time Emmy winner, Wayne is a member of the NAACP, the National Association of Black Journalists and the Phi Beta Sigma fraternity. He is also a member of the Broadcasters Hall of Fame. In 2014 Wayne was inducted into the NATAS Silver Circle and also received the Chuck Heaton Award for the Cleveland Press Club. He was also awarded the William Taylor Alumni award from the Journalism and Mass Communications School of Kent State University.

Join us and kick off the school year with business leaders and others who will share their leadership philosophies, careers, and educational expectations.

         Expected to attend:

    Career-technical educators

    School board members

    Advisory committee members

Ohio ACTE Division presidents and leaders
Others interested in leadership in Ohio's career-technical and adult education community.
